Subject: “Sustainable Legacy.”

Teacher Ophelius: “Today we have a very different kind of message.  This message is about choosing who will follow after you and how you will prepare those who follow you now.  What do I mean by this?  The work you are doing now (spiritual work) will one day come to an end on this planet when you graduate and leave your tabernacle of flesh and join the ranks of your new family on the morontia worlds.  The spiritual work -- the seeds you have planted will be left to grow without you doing the watering and pulling the weeds.  There will be a new gardener who will take over and continue the important work that you have begun.  It is important how you prepare for that day when you are called to move on and how orderly you have left things to continue to function through the transition from one phase into another.

“This is how we build a sustainable legacy that will continue to grow and flourish from generation to generation.  The greatest institutions are the ones that have survived for generations because of careful planning by their founders.  Once they realized how important their cause was and how important it is to continue this work to benefit humanity, these wise founders began to lay the ground work, and create the foundations for future generations to continue that work.

“With great foresight, the founders of these institutions engineered their systems to be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions, and changing societal values, for if it were not for this flexibility, future generations would quickly fall away and the original idea would fade from human memory.

“This all may sound very abstract to you my friends, but what I am trying to point out here is that no matter how great or how small your contribution is to humanity, to society, to your children, to your friends, to those whom you don’t even know, and who have been touched by your ideas, how will you prepare them to follow through with this idea you have born and will it be pure enough to sustain the test of time beyond your short life?  We must care about such things, for it is the only way we can change and evolve life on this planet and move ever closer to a world where peace and harmony become the pillars of society.

“Put a plan in place today for the continuance of your work that it may grow beyond your years.  Don’t be afraid to let go when it is time to move on.  See that all is in readiness for the transition and you may leave this world in peace knowing you have left a growing and sustainable legacy.  When you come to the mansion worlds you will from time to time have the opportunity to see what has become of those seeds you have planted; the buildings which were constructed from the careful foundations that you laid, and it will be a great blessing to you, about which you will experience great joy for knowing that your life was important and that you actually changed life on your native planet in some small or great way that will continue to evolve and grow from generation to generation.

Subject: “All is Communication.”  (part transmit only)

The Scribe: “I exist in time, and yet I am timeless, also.  I am not a creature but rather an aspect of creation and a Creator.  I have personality and, incidentally, a sense of humor as well.  This is the Damascus Scribe.  I was the Spiritual Guide of the Master and of Machiventa Melchizedek before the Master.  I consider you both to be my dear friends.

“For many years you have been taught that no one may speak of the origin of, or even regarding any pertinent details of, Thought Adjusters, but this is a new age, and since I am a Thought Adjuster, and one with countless millennia of experience, I do rightly suggest that I am well placed to do so.”

George mumbles: “…seems utterly fair to me.”

The Scribe: “Indeed!  My present thoughts with you, these, my transferred thoughts to you, deal with communication.  Each one of you above a certain age is endowed, I say, with a Thought Adjuster, a Fragment of the Creator of all that will guide you, and this guidance is done in the form of communication, indirectly to your brain and mind, directly to your soul.  And so, it is by your ability to experience soul-felt input that you can become intellectually aware of the presence of your Thought Adjuster.  It is so that almost everything we manage to do with you is classed as communication.

“We Thought Adjusters, Spirit Selves, Fragments of the Creator – yes, whichever way you wish to describe us -- are first of all communicators.  And in our spirit-to-soul communication we help you in spiritizing your souls.  This communication can consist of unheard prompts for you to do something right, rather than to do something wrong.  This communication can go on even without you being aware that your soul -- your mid-mind as the Midwayers call it -- is being educated.

“This communication even exists in the sense that when those of us who are capable of travel, and in temporarily leaving you, will jar your system for a moment at the point you are about to fall asleep.  This lets you know that you have now been fully passed onto the care of your Guardian Angels, your Destiny Guardian, if the latter term so applies.

“The jolt you experience as we leave is caused by two things: The unwillingness of the soul to suddenly let go of the Thought Adjuster, and the departure of the energy freely radiated when the Adjuster is with you.  That awareness of the soul of a break in interaction is a form of communication.  Communication is where our speciality lies.  I thank you for being available to us, for being available to me at this late evening, or should one call it an early morning now.  Indeed, I thank you.  This is the Damascus Scribe.”

A Teacher named The Beloved One.
Subject: “Paying Attention.”

The Beloved One: “Thank you for paying attention to my prompts.  It is ever so that where your heart and mind are, there I am, too.  I am apprised of all your intent, your thoughts, your actions, as I live and work within you, so you can pay me more of your mind.

“You see, dear one, I am never far away, and no matter how much you have your mind occupied with other things, I am with you.  Therefore, I desire that you pay me more attention, and give me more of your mind, so I can lead you more and more in God’s will and ways.

“However, I can only do this with your permission.  You know and have experienced for yourself how difficult it is to have a recalcitrant child pay you some mind in his or her unwillingness.  You realize that it is far better to raise a child with love, so it will pay you some mind and attention.

“How much easier it is to lead a child that pays attention to the parent, as he or she knows that this would be far better than thoughtless and obstinate behavior, which always carries consequences.

“Even little children need to learn that unruly behavior leads to consequences.  In this manner they learn how to become more thoughtful, and become independent thinkers, as they will have learned from a very young age to see the result of their behavior in the correct light, and learn to think matters through before acting out.

“This difficult lesson is learned under the guidance of loving elders, who for themselves have learned this most difficult lesson of paying attention to the instructions of their parents and other well-meaning adults.

“Morality comes into play here, together with honesty and sincerity, as life resembles a jungle ‘out there’ with shallow thinkers and mindless entertainment.

“Therefore it is important for a child to, at an early age, learn pay attention and also to be told that a most wise, loving Guide lives within each one.  It would be so wonderful if parents could teach their little ones that a very wise Guide in the form of a Still Voice lives within them, and that they can learn to pay attention to this Still Voice.  They would always be able to go within and be silent for a while to learn from or consult with this most wonderful Guide and make friends, and to be called on at any time the child so desires.

“Tell children they have a Spark from God living within them as an invisible Friend, to help guide them throughout life, as long as they pay attention to what is said.

“You know of the help and guidance I have been to you, even when you did not know that it was I who prompted and motivated you to at any time make certain decisions according to your highest intent and purpose.”

Subject: “Stones upon Your Path.”

The Beloved One: “Dear one, since you still struggle with thoughtlessness and perceived sins, perhaps we could discuss those perceived ‘stones upon your path’, because they seem to crop up in your memory from time to time.

“Thoughtlessness can become like a weed in the mind and in turn become very pernicious, and turn into a spirit poison.

“This shows that more self-forgiveness needs to be practiced, and that with sincerity and honesty matters need to be examined, so past mistakes can be turned into ‘fertilizer’ for the soul.  This examination will result in another growing spurt.  In this way you can leave another piece of thoughtlessness behind, and the past is done and over with.

“The only way in which the past becomes the past is to make amends through self-forgiveness and by from time to time sending that occasion, which still bothers you, unconditional forgiveness and love -- meaning to yourself -- so you can free yourself.

“You know that when you forgive yourself, the Father in heaven has already forgiven you.  Total inner freedom and peace arrives when you again feel this wonderful connection with your Spark from God within.

“It is I, who from time to time entices you to clear up little the niggly stones of your inner self, so there will be no unfinished business as you advance in age.

“Making ‘clean ship’ is a good saying, for the more awake you become in your consciousness, the more your shortcomings will glaringly stare you in your face, so you know that there is still a long way to go towards perfection.

“Take heart dear one, you are working to achieve a stalwart dependable character, which will become increasingly useful in the far away eternal ages when you will serve on the yet unformed planets of space as one who will have achieved oneness with your Co-creator.  You and your on-board Partner will have achieved that perfection by weeding out ‘the stones and weeds’ of your mind to strengthen a marvellous character.

“All this hard work and training is done to the greater glory of God, the universal Architect and Upholder of all creation, who gives life to everything.”

A Teacher named The Beloved One.
Subject: “Prayer.”

The Beloved One: “There is much need in the world today for earnest prayer, as many people are already going through difficult times and in desperation seek for a solution.  Most solutions are truly easy to find if one would only turn within and find one’s God-Spark waiting.

“Once found, life becomes so much easier to take, as this Spark within would love to guide and encourage all to take another step, as life simply consists of moments.  They are the decisions, taken from moment to moment, that count.

“The sad thing is that not many people think deeply anymore, being pre-occupied with the mundane.  They need to be jolted into a higher reality that, yes, there is a better way to live.  It is when life is lived courageously, and decisions are made thoughtfully, that much misery can be avoided, as life is a continual choice and decision making process.  However, most decisions are made unawares, and many an after-thought is filled with regrets of how things could have been done differently if more fore-thought would have gone into the process.

“Every decision brings its own consequences as decisions bring causes and effects, which can ‘ripple’ down the line for long years.

“And this is the crux of the matter when a mortal learns to make prayerful decisions; to include the Spark from God within -- always the silent Witness to all decisions.

“It would be most wonderful for parents to teach children that they, too, have an on-board Partner -- a Spark from the living God -- and to teach the little ones to make conversation with this Mystery Monitor, and after speaking with It, learn to listen to It.  This is the most important part even adults forget to do.

“It is so very important that after a sincere prayer to God, a time of silence is regularly observed.  This then gives God an opportunity to answer, which may not always be in words, but often in a feeling of being surrounded by love, and a feeling of being accepted just the way you are.

“This gives you security, this gives you hope, this gives you encouragement, and this gives you strength for the day or even the moment ahead in the knowledge of your not being alone in the struggle, and the knowing of being loved so unconditionally.  These are all the most wonderful growing moments a fledgling soul can experience.

“It does not then matter what lies ahead, because the full assurance that God listens, and is always there for inspiration, is living in and with spirit, without which nothing exists.  Unfortunately, people have lost sight of this great Helper within, or they don’t even know that it is possible to have a personal relationship with the God, who created them.

“So give this listening to God a try, and you will not be left hungering for spiritual sustenance, which feeds the soul and helps guide you through life, but only when you are willing to listen.  This is an exercise in faith.”

Subject: “The Great Divide.”

Teacher Ophelius: “Today’s message is about the ‘Great Divide.’  What do I mean by this?  Like a chasm between two mountain ranges, this divide is wide and it separates the peoples of the earth into two classes, ‘Those that know God and those that do not.’  When it comes to personality survival, which side you belong too matters greatly.  These two classes may also be identified as ‘Those who survive and those who do not.’  This is not meant to strike fear into the hearts of the reader, for it is a statement of fact, yet all is not so ‘black or white’ when we consider mercy and forgiveness.

“God honors even the tiniest flicker of faith in a man or woman and it is His supreme desire that none should perish and that all shall come to the light.  Even those who know God and have led a rebellious life shall be offered a probationary period after death to prove themselves and work their way up from the twilight realms into the realms of light.  Those who spurn God’s mercy and have made the conscious choice to deny the sovereignty of God will become unreal and will ingest the seeds of inhalation.  Even those who have that flicker of faith will, after death, willfully choose not to take the Grand Adventure and seek perfection in eternity.  God honors that choice, and that soul will then be absorbed back into the oneness of infinity and shall no more have identity or personality.

“There are so many people today who are living on the surface of life -- good people who serve their communities, raise their children to be respectful, and pay their taxes, yet they do not actively seek a relationship with God or desire to have a spiritual nature.  This is most unfortunate, and for many, this blindness is due to a generational misleading, which started long ago with the Lucifer rebellion, the defection of the now deposed Planetary Prince, Caligastia, and the default of the material son and daughter, Adam and Eve.  The teachings of the one true God were nearly extinct on Urantia were it not for the emergency service of Machiventa Melchizedek, the Sage of Salem, in Abraham’s time, who sent his missionaries out across the globe to seed the hearts and minds of those peoples who were utterly lost and did not know God.

“And so it is for these surface dwellers today that it is so important that they fan that flicker of faith that they will be offered mercy on the day when they are called to eternity.  It is this emergency that I call you to service, my friends, that they be given one more chance to know the One True God before the ‘parting of the ways.’  All deficiencies and lack of opportunity shall be compensated for, yet the spark of faith is still required to continue the journey.  Religious affiliation is not a requirement, only the tiniest of desire to know God and accept his mercy.  Still, the rewards for living a God-knowing life, in loving service to God and man, will reap joy beyond human comprehension, and for you my students on the path, much glory awaits you in the realms of light.  I admonish you to bring your brothers and sisters across the Great Divide so they may also share in the glories of eternal life.
