Abraham - There Are No Shortcuts for Lessons Learned - Oct 16, 2006 - Woods Cross
ABRAHAM OCTOBER 16, 2006 WOODS CROSS GROUPI am ABRAHAM. Greetings. I am enjoying your conversation this evening. You are growing into the idea of new possibilities. The waters of spirituality stay not still for very long. I am inspired by your courage to go well beneath surface levels toward finding real answers, even though they may seem harsh. I see positive change among you. I see how tirelessly you each have put forth effort to stay the course. I know when times become mundane or realistically unpleasant; people have a need for escape. I thank you for remaining real and continuing on with me.
I am also grateful for my friend and coworker, Emulan. His presence here brings us a confidence in our ability to understand the mortal living of today. Last week he discussed removing stumbling blocks on our spiritual path and what were the small actions we could take toward having a continued hope. I realize that the average mortal today has every amenity at their fingertips. Hard work is sometimes thought of as something to achieve while sitting at a computer. Those life efforts that were once so challenging are now as quick as the press of a button.
Spirituality however is the same as it always was. There still are no shortcuts to obtaining a mass amount of memory overnight. Each lesson is slowly learned so as to become a part of the experiential foundation here as a mortal. The spiritual life does require effort and in this instant society there is some conflict with that. We want everything and we it now. Believe me, I understand and can sympathize, but my best suggestion for you is to remain committed to the work of spiritual advancement. Prayer, stillness and study are requirements for this course. Acceptance of the realities that are before you will be helpful in your learning. Never can you look out over your mortal life and declare ‘I have finally made it.’ The end of mortal life is the beginning of another.
In our spiritual careers we are always absorbing and making advancement. There are seemingly stagnant times when we see ourselves to be standing still in unproductive experience. These are perhaps times when we should stay most observant because the real lesson is probably occurring. Just because emotions are not in upheaval doesn’t mean there are not lessons to be gained. Father is very intellectual. The mind circuits are amazing in that they truly serve the whole—one mind at a time. Mother and Her adjutant mind spirits also teach with senses that are beyond your scientific explanation. As spiritual individuals we can rely on this, these are our tools. It is up to us to make effort to keep seeking.
This week review your study habits. Make time for some reading, as well as stillness. Let us contemplate our moments of prayer—are they worthy of the Master’s attention or are they given as a token to buy off the well wishes from the Master for the day? Who is prayer for? Have discussion next week on the unlikely benefits of staying in contact with the Master. That is all. I am so overjoyed to see your faces each week. I am indeed blessed to be your friend and teacher. My love goes with you. Until next time, shalom.
