Topic: To The Young
December 20, 1998
Ham: Greetings, children, I am Ham and I thank you for attending here tonight. Tonight's lesson shall be about fairness. The Father in heaven is consistently fair and just. Life, to you, seems to be full of injustice and unfairness and this is so because you have such a relatively short lifetime in which to experience life and all its ups and downs.
To the young, everything seems quite unfair and unjust. To those among you who are older and somewhat wiser, who see life in a more coherent wholeness, there seems to be quite a lot of justice and fairness in the world. Also, part of the reason for this conception is your conception that this lifetime is all there is so when someone dies young its seems to be terribly unfair and yet if you could see the long-term view of that person's existence in the afterlife, you would see that there early death here created wondrous and ample opportunities in the next existence.
The earthly existence is such a tiny time span it is really more like a launching space. The next existence is so much greater and so much more complete than the earthly life, no matter how long one should live, is just a tiny, incomplete beginning.
So, getting back to our topic of fairness, there are humans who take unfair advantage of their brethren and who persecute their neighbors, but this is not something that is allowed to continue for very long. Humans make the mistake of believing that human power is really something real and humans grab power from each other, lord power over each other, and hurt each other when they have the power to do so. But, this power is an elusive thing.
Those who take power from others will find it taken from them. The Father's justice and mercy are existent in the world, even though these things are worked out in human terms on the human plane of existence and even though there is a time delay in between the offending act and the eventual justice. The Father who lives within each person strives that that person should understand these things and he can give directives to your angels that will insure that justice and mercy will eventually triumph in your life so that you will be aware of the hand of God in your life. So though not all is fair at any particular time, over the long, long run each human being is dealt with fairly by the universe.
That is all, are there any questions at this time?
Q: Ham, the lesson seems fairly self-evident and self-explanatory. I wonder about the timing of your lesson on fairness. Is there a particular reason you choose to talk to us about this topic tonight?
Ham: No, only that it was a time when many of you are thinking of these things.
Q: As an example, suppose a child is killed in the recent bombing of Iraq. How is that ever worked out to be fair and just in the long run?
Ham: Yes, it is hard for you to understand how this seeming injustice to a small child can be rectified in the afterlife and I cannot give you a specific example except to tell you that there are many, many, many such beings in this local universe who feel very blessed to be where they are now, and this early experience of an early death made it possible for them. Is this helping?
Q: I can see how that is fair to the child, but I also wondering about the justice of it. Are those responsible eventually held accountable?
Ham: Yes, as individuals, each person is dealt with fairly and justly by the universe. In this example, it is difficult to explain because intention is always a part of the Father's merciful justice and the Father knows the true intent in each person's heart. In this case, no child was killed purposely, but only accidentally. And, there is culpability for those who could and should have removed civilians from the area and did not.
Justice is complex, for every situation there are many actors, and yet there is justice for each one. Justice is always individual and not collective.
Q: It has always been unclear to me what kinds of consequences await us in the afterlife when people do things that are very unfair and unjust to other people in this lifetime.
Ham: Yes, the consequences are not something like physical hell-like punishment, but there is certainly the what I would call the psycho morontial experience of going through the fear and suffering of the victim that the person has caused.
Q: That's what that thing, what you would not like done to yourself do not do to anyone else.
Ham: Yes, because you do experience it in the afterlife.
Q: That somehow seems mighty fair to me. Thank you for that answer.
Q: I was intrigued by your statement that the father who lives within give directive to our angels to be sure that justice eventually triumphs in our lives. Does that mean that even though we are tested to our limits, we will never be given more than we can bear, that there will be some action in the environment that restores our faith due to angelic intervention.
Ham: Yes, that is one way to interpret that, of course.
Q: Some of us are tested to a greater degree than others. There is some correlation between the difficulty of the obstacles we have to overcome and our spiritual development. Is that true, it seems that way to me sometimes.
Ham: Yes, I would say that is true. As you grow and develop in the spirit, you are able to handle greater problems and work with situations and issues that effect more people and as these things come to you, they are more difficult than the situations you dealt with as a youngster. But, as you said, you are more able to deal with them now.
Q: I feel like a worry wort here, but listening to the text of this lesson tonight. Would it be better for Jim and Aja to drive back in the morning than to drive back tonight?
Ham: No, it is not any more dangerous tonight than tomorrow.
Q: Thank you.
Q: Ham, do you have a personal message for me this week please?
Ham: Certainly, son, you have experienced some strain and stress that is turning out to be useless. Again, I want to caution you about worry and to tell you that there is time for all things and when you stay in the moment, in the now time, you will find that the action that is needed comes on its own in the right time. When you learn to master that understanding, you will find a greater happiness.
Q: Thank you Ham, and Merry Christmas.
Q: Ham, do you have a message for me tonight please?
Ham: Yes, son, you are consistently striving to better yourself and to make those adjustments with others that allow you to help to better their lives as well. You are a constant man of good will, one who wishes well to others in all circumstances. This is praise worthy and rare. Go in peace, for all is well.
Q: Ham, do you have a message for me please?
Ham: Yes, child, your life is undergoing a little bit of turbulence that is natural and normal. As you go out into the world on your own, you like to make your own decisions but yet you are still unsure of yourself and so sometimes pull back on making firm choices. Do not be afraid to spread your wings a little. Remember that you are a beloved daughter of God who watches over you and helps you in all your endeavors And also remember, that you can call on him to seek his guidance and to ask for his wisdom when your's is inadequate.
Q: Do you have anything for Esmirelda?
Ham: Yes, daughter, be patient with yourself and you will be more patient with others. Be kind to yourself, and you will feel a greater kindness towards others. Remember to practice the stillness, and also to pray for the strength or guidance that you need.
Q: Elena?
Ham: Daughter, you do well. Remember to always keep in mind the greater things in life, the greater goals, the greater love, the greater guidance. And these greater goals will help to align the smaller ones in place. Fear not, all is as it should be.
Q: Ham, I forgot that Elena wanted to ask you about this job interview. She asks if you can giver her guidance about the job and comment on the job.
Ham: My answer includes these things.
Q: Do you have anything for Rebecca?
Ham: Daughter, you are doing well. You have come far during our brief association and I know that you will continue to do well in the years to come.
Q: Jarad?
Ham: Yes, son, likewise you do well and are continuing to grow and to experience new levels of spiritual awareness.
Q: I would appreciate any feedback you have for me this week.
Ham: Yes, Brodan, I hope you will relax and enjoy the moment during this time of contemplating peace and brotherhood. May God's grace be upon you.
Q: Ham, I have a question about what I am supposed to be doing with my life. I just kind of feel lost now I guess.
Ham: Yes, daughter, this is part of making this transition from young adulthood into adulthood. It is a time when decisions seem to be so big and indeed often times the course of one's life is set in these early years. But, if you will think of decisions as doors, you can make a decision to open this door that will lead to another door and another and another. Often times you will come to a place from one direction that you would have come to from another if you had chosen a different way. Remember too that the life experience is very much about releasing your own inner potential and this is also know as self-realization. You and everyone else are in a state of change, inner change, and this inner flux can feel like being lost, but it is not so. It is just the time period between that potential coming to the surface and actualizing in the world. So, really the great mystery is who am I. And, that search and that process of self-discovery is what plays out over a lifetime and through all kinds of different circumstances. So, when you are choosing a path, think to yourself will this help me be a better me? Will this help me explore my potential and lead me to greater things? All of experience is part of that learning of who we are, what our purpose is. So, don't be afraid. Do what you feel in your heart is the best thing for you and all will be well.
Then, if there are no further questions, my love and my prayers are with you each. Farewell.
