ABRAHAM & MARY

WOODS CROSS GROUP

I am ABRAHAM.  Greetings. I so much appreciate being here, gathered with like minds. I understand you each to be deep thinking and always making effort to stay the course. I can understand the mortal life to continually pull you in many different directions. I know that having lived the mortal life myself that the mind and heart are willing, but the flesh can be weak.

I am MARY and honored to be with you again, my friends.  As Abraham speaks of the various issues that may pull on your mind, I am reminded of the Master as He was coming to the reality that His time on earth was over. There are times in the mortal life where the ego or animal, screams for instant gratification and many times individuals experience pain that may cause them to seek this instant comfort.

We can all say that instant comfort may not always be a positive choice. In the instance of the Master at Gethsemane, where He asked the Apostles to stay alert and pray with Him, for His mind was in great pain. The Apostles, having a good heart and honorable intentions, could not help but answer the call of physical comfort and so they slept.

I sometimes wonder what difference there would have been had the Apostles remained awake to comfort Jesus in His time of need.  I believe the Master was made to feel humanly alone so He could feel a better spiritual connection. The Master could have very well opted for physical comfort and chosen a different path out of mortal life and definitely was it a struggle to answer the spiritual call to remain steadfast in the Father’s will.

Mortal life is a series of choices and you can choose instant gratification or you can ask the Spirit for assistance. Those that rely upon the Spirit are strengthened to cope with various issues that can be quite painful, but in the end find an ultimate good. The real exercise of faith is being patient with the Spirit and trusting in Father to take care of you, to help you make those difficult decisions.

As we remember the story of Jesus coming to terms with reality, seeing His struggle, seeing His tears, we know that this took time and eventually He was ministered to by the angel. The time that had passed for the Master was the teacher, because He was still part man and the human mind had to make a choice between escape and the will of the Father. The flesh or the animal-self, does seeks instant comfort, but the Spirit listens for guidance and finds long term solutions to life’s issues.

We have to ask ourselves, ‘in whom do we serve?’ I can say that the more you practice your faith, the more strength you will find to answer the call of the Spirit. The less you practice, the more the animal is in control and I can say from experience, when the animal is in control--life is definitely out of control.

I am so glad to be with you again. I learn so much from your conversations and issues about everyday life occurrences. I see you as having been strengthened over these years and fully have faith in your abilities to continue to work with the Spirit and know that there is an ultimate good in all experiences. We’ll keep this lesson short.  Know that Abraham and I are not far off. We are with deep and abiding love for you each.  From Abraham and myself, we wish you a productive week and we’ll meet again soon. Until next time we bid you shalom.
