[Relaxation exercises and linking with the merkaba, preceded the session.]

RAYSON: Good afternoon, this is Rayson. (Group welcome.) Thank you very much; it is good to be here. It is good to be welcomed by you and to be in dialog with you. During the meditation that was given, you connected to the merkaba, that shaft of energy. And then you connected through the heart line and the mind line in this group. I wish to develop that further, so that you see the flow of the merkaba and the mind lines and the heart lines. You recall that the merkaba shaft of energy connects universe center to earth center, and back again. And you recall that the grid of the merkaba, the shell, the sphere—is like a wire mesh of gold threads around the equator line, while the lines of longitude consists of each of your own shafts of energy connecting to top and bottom. And your heart and mind lines, energy lines, being that of the lines of parallel. But in more accurate detail the mind line and heart line revolve counter to each other; one is clockwise and one is counter-clockwise.

And were you to see these energies, you would see them going in opposite directions and they work their way up the sphere of the merkaba globe, and as they wrap themselves around the merkaba shaft, they become a double helix of two lines as they travel up the merkaba shaft of energy, and also through the southern end of the axis in the other direction. So what you see is a shaft of light, with a double helix of electric pink and of electric blue/green, wrapping itself around the shaft of energy as it traverses to universe center. This completes the visual picture that I hope you can see in your minds. So the parallel lines are not actually parallel, but they circle the globe of the merkaba, spiraling upwards and downward to the northern and southern axes, and you are the connecting points of those along the way, around the equator.

And the significance is this, whereas the merkaba shaft of universe energy connects universe center, you are connected through the heart energy and the mind energy of the Son line and the Mother Spirit line. Thus, you are in full co-creative command of universe energy, and when you connect to universe mind through the Mother Spirit and through the heart energy of the Father/Son line, you are in full contact, and able to qualify the energy that comes to you. Are you able to see this, or have I made this simple concept too complex for you? (Student: I can see it.) Perhaps you would draw this out for the group, after this session, please.

Now let us shift our focus to another area of discussion. What we have been doing in this group and the group in Denver, is to walk you through, 1) through this group, which is older and more established, and is more developed in its curriculum of topics, as compared to the Denver group, 2) which is a beginning group, even though there are members in that group who are well acquainted with Teaching Mission concepts. Nonetheless, the lessons that are coming through the Teacher, Bob, are very fundamental and very basic. We are using these two groups as examples for the development of outreach or extension efforts of the Teaching Mission into new regions. One factor, which is not apparent at this time, is that of the TR training, which is an integral part of this process.

It is not that this group is perfect, or that the Denver group is a perfect starter group, as there are deficiencies in both, but they each exemplify the characteristics we feel are typical of established groups and a beginning group. As was mentioned many sessions ago, we of the Teaching Mission have determined it is time in some locales to develop outreach. Much as a college system may have extension offices out in the hinterlands, to teach those who are too far away from campuses, to come to the campus, then the educational process goes out to the outreaches, and so we are using this time to develop this.

We do not wish to have established groups become crystallized and social in nature, but educational in nature, so that it whets their appetite for growth of a spiritual nature, the inner development of each individual who participates. Not all groups are willing to experiment with this, as it does take a certain amount of "chutzpah" to step out of your standard roles that are comfortable. And as new beginning groups of the Teaching Mission, you have learned your roles and you are comfortable with them; you feel safe, you are validated, the teachers validate you, the lessons are validated from other groups across the world, and so you remain as you are. That is fine, but how do you reach new people? Answer: is through and outreach program. And through outreach, you will begin to enter into new areas, whether it is geographic or through a bookstore in another locale, where you attract individuals who perhaps know nothing of the Urantia Book, or the Teaching Mission, but who have a yearning curiosity to be assured that "someone" is in charge of the universe, that this world is guided, that there is a plan for its development and for its healing—and there is. So hone your marketing, outreach services and products to that vision. There are individuals who have hope—perhaps they have no faith yet—but they have hope that the world is being guided from the outside, from the Creator, from a higher Source, with a positive, constructive inclination towards this world, and towards its individuals.

And so you will step out in faith and go into new areas and not proselytize, but you will advertise. Let each individual come to this as they wish, and yes, there will be a sorting and sifting of individuals, who will determine that they wish to be a part of it, and those who opt out, who wish not to be a part of it. You need not feel embarrassed by presenting these wonderful truths to people who are ignorant of the knowledges that you have. Whereas they may ask very fundamental questions that you may feel some embarrassment about, but you need not feel that way, as you are emissaries of Christ Michael, through his program of the Correcting Time and in the Teaching Mission. You are our emissaries; we cannot reach everyone in your world, through mind contact, as we have with some of you, but you must aid us in helping them become aware that there is this influence, that they can meditate, go to the silence and tune in to higher guidance. Yes, you also must teach the aspects of discernment, for many of your kind believe that there are wild hoards of negative and evil influences in your world. Surely they are abundant in human form—that is for sure—and there are enough influences through your degenerative media to indicate that there is no need for spiritual evil influences.

Thus, we have sought to exercise this outreach, and the one that has begun is in Denver, from this group. We are pleased with your courage to foster this, to

support it, to engage this. We have yet to receive new individuals who are "green," and "wet behind the ears," so to speak, who are unaware of the Teaching Mission or the Correcting Time in that Denver group. However, we know that they will be forthcoming when these tools are honed, to attract them. And then we wish you to share that with other groups in other parts of this nation and elsewhere.

I feel that there has been some business unattended to, for some time. Do you wish to engage these now through questions? (Pause) You are peaceful today!

Student: I am not sure what you meant by that question.

Rayson: Were their issues from past lessons that were incomplete, which you would like to finish at this time?

Student: At one time, I proposed researching eventually toward writing about ethics, and have failed to find my motivation, so far. Perhaps under the influence of chemotherapy, I faltered. I was wondering if you had anything about ethics at this particular time, or is that in line with what we are doing today?

Rayson: Yes, to both questions. The ethics of the Teaching Mission and your new found outreach extensions is fundamentally that this does not violate anyone’s current religious practices, it does not proselytize, but is in many ways informational and also motivational. Informational for you, the larger audience, to become aware of a larger universe that you are a part of; motivational, that there is meaning in your life, and there is meaning in the afterlife, that there is a purpose to your life, and a plan, as there is to this world. The ethics are that this has no organizational motivation, no organizational interest, other than the necessity to afford the members to continue, to assist others as they assist themselves through this program. The ethics are not through politicizing issues, but of gaining the interest of each individual in the larger universe, so that through this new way of living and learning and thinking about the universe, it affects their lives, your lives and how you live them, day-to-day, from one decision to the next. This is not solely a philosophical expansion of issues, but the philosophical-spiritual expansion of living in a larger universe. You call this spiritual, because your ethics, your way of living, separates you from the larger universe and this is a part of your material existence, separation. And yes, you are "too dangerous" as you are to live with the flexibility, the control and manipulation of power that you could have, that you will have as morontial and as spiritual beings. You do not have the ethical standards of conduct, of thinking, speaking and "doing" yet, to manage your affairs in the larger universe; therefore, you are captives of a material world.

The ethics of your lives dictates your ability to survive in the afterlife. It is determined by your expression of ethics, your decisions, decisions that take in larger parameters of the universe. Not just yourself, or your family or your community, but your whole world and your participation in the universe, as you will exist in the morontial state. I know this is difficult for you to appreciate; one’s life is challenged by earning a living, providing for children at home, and thinking about, perhaps, assisting them in going to college, to assist them in purchasing their first home. You have many obligations that grab your attention and keep you from the thoughtful attention as required of each decision. The ethics of this program are meant to assist you, to be mindful of this, to live consciously in self-awareness from moment-to-moment. This is no easy chore for you, we know.

Even when you are fully conscious of yourselves as citizens of the universe, responsible participants in a larger universe than what this world presents, we know that even with this mindfulness, your attention span is very short, as there are so many needs that call to you from moment-to-moment. It is hard to even remember sometimes when you put that figurative string that is tied in a bow, around your finger to remind yourself, to remember to be conscious, in the moment. Sometimes I know that you look at this metaphorical bow on your finger and say, "What is that for? I forgot." Life is so distracting to you.

And so the attention that you give to this program and to these lessons, are all ethical in nature, and the ethics are intended to help you grow, to help you pay attention to these issues, to choose in each moment, the higher way. And sometimes it is the more difficult way, is it not? But in the end, it all flows together, whether it is on this world of materiality, or whether it is in the morontial — they are all connected —there is no separation. So your question concerning ethics is at the heart of all of this. It is a matter of attention to detail of living, giving attention to the minute aspects, which weave a wonderfully rich tapestry of living that gives your soul texture and richness and depth, which you would not have if you were not mindful of it. As we stated last time, an ethical and moral way of living without conscious knowledge and awareness of outcomes for higher decisions and higher outcomes is fine, but the rewards are far fewer. They may contribute to your morontial development, but they will not reap you the soul-growth rewards that you seek through these decisions.

We could go into the minutia of self-interests of ethical living and moral living, but truly, this is the interest of your Divine Fragment, your Thought Adjuster within you. There is a higher interest, and yes, it is Self-interest with a capital S, the interest of soul survivorship. This is the beginning; these ethical standards of conscious decision-making are the points of early engagement with your Divine Fragment. Through your cooperation in making conscious decisions of a higher nature, you pave the way for Thought Adjuster fusion with you. I know many of you have read the Urantia Book and you have reveled in the aspect and the thought that someday, sometime, "somewhen," of being fused with your Thought Adjuster that all the doubts of future eternity would be removed by your survival, yet it is in this moment, each moment that you live, today and every day of your mortal life, and in your morontial life, that will affect that fusion.

So your question is rich in many ways. The answers are many for you. Thoughtful living; this is all that is required, all that is desired; the outcomes from that lead in many directions that are rich, wonderful, filled with joy and fulfillment. This is how individuals in other nations, who have less material comforts than you, can live joyously, with so much less, for they know that they live in the moment and this moment affects all of the rest of the infinite ends of their lives. Yes, you see one aspect of that is great joy, as you see humble, impoverished individuals doing menial work, living happily—perhaps not comfortably or easily—but contentedly as they are. And then you see the same kind of dedication in the furor of political martyrs. The intentions are very similar; the outcomes are far different due to the decisions made as they affect others. Making decisions in your lives affects yourself and it affects others. Are you at peace with this? [No response, as everyone is deep in thought.]

Student: Rayson, when you talk about the necessity of making decisions, decisions and more decisions, you are not talking about the minor things of life, are you—just the ones that have more meaning and value and spiritual content?

Rayson: No, I am speaking of all of them, and it is the level of awareness involved in each minute decision that affects how you live, for if you make decisions—some times without this awareness or consciousness—it becomes difficult to make decisions in important areas with consciousness. We hope you maintain an aura of consciousness at all times, and then your decisions, no matter how minute, will then fall into alignment and be consistent with those intentions of your consciousness. It is not the other before the first, but consciousness first, consciousness of an infinite relationship with all that exists around you, and all that exists in the infinity of time. You need not have that awesome projection in front of your face all the time, just the conscious awareness that you are living moment-by-moment in intimate relationship with the Creator. I am not talking about choosing between the 85 cent can of tomato soup or the 95 cent can of tomato soup, but perhaps you may wonder where this came from, how it was produced; were the shoes that you wear, were they produced in a sweatshop in a foreign country? Yes, even these minor decisions are meaningful. This is how you begin to transform your world. Yes, economic boycott may seem antiquarian, but making higher-minded choices about being a responsible participant economically, financially, with your partners unseen, other mortals across the world, is a meaningful place to start. You are all connected; you would want to have the same respect for them, as you buy their products, as you would expect of them. (Thank you.) You are welcome.

Student: Years ago there was a saying, "Be Here Now," which this reminds me so deeply of.

Rayson: We have come to a middle space in this group, and we would like you to speak among yourselves after our session today, about what you would like to know more about in your relationship with Christ Michael and Nebadonia, the Teaching Mission, the Correcting Time, the teachers and this Teaching Mission outreach group. You will have no limits to what you may discuss with us. This is a co-creative process, and eventually, as you work with professors, you are as determinative of your class schedule and the classes you take as the professors who teach you. You begin to determine what you want to learn and how you move ahead. You are responsible enough to make decisions about whether we talk about curiosity subjects, or whether we do more meaningful discussions that we have striven to seed you with already. It is not that you are in post-doctoral studies, but that you are in graduate studies; you have moved on, you are now becoming more responsible for what you are taught. You become responsible for what is taught to you; you have this flexibility here during this experimental time of the Teaching Mission as it grows and evolves.

We, too, seek to fulfill your spiritual educational needs. Yes, we have many ideas about what you perhaps should learn, what you must learn, what you need to learn to progress, but there are times for academic recess, so to speak, where there is a freedom to choose classes, to experiment, to cast about into new areas, to fill yourselves with new wonder about an enlarging universe that you are beginning to perceive. We hope you think about this, contemplate it, sit in reverie, speak with your Thought Adjusters, be in dialog, even if you cannot hear your Thought Adjuster; seek out guidance from this Master Source of wisdom, who holds the template for the development of your life. You can co-creatively engage that and speak for yourselves, with that cooperative effort. [NOTE: during the editing/correction process Rayson advised that this question was not raised solely for the attendant mortals, but for anyone in the readership of these transcripts, whether in the immediate future or in the developing future.]

Student: That brings a question to mind, that in the Urantia Book we are cautioned that it is better to assume that some thoughts have welled up from our unconscious, rather than attributing too much to communication with our Thought Adjuster, I guess so that we are not likely to get fanatical or go into something that is more extreme, but yet it feels to me like it is very worthwhile…I’m having a stronger and stronger intention to want to communicate more directly with my Thought Adjuster, and I would like not to feel inhibited too much by that caution.

Rayson: this is an excellent topic to engage at this time. Thank you for raising this question. We would assist you this way, and you are wise enough to have gotten the sagacity from others around you who have taken these "spiritual spasms," as we might call them, where they engage their ego in spiritual inclinations simultaneously, and attribute it to spirit. We know that you have the capacity to discern that, that leads you away from the Source and that which leads you to the Source.

If you examine the development of religious history, especially the beginnings of religions beginning in the Seventeenth Century and moving forward, you will see the rise of many individuals who had these epiphanies, these God contacts, and they did not know what that was. They did not know how to discern what was of themselves and what was of their Thought Adjusters. They did not really know the Thought Adjuster as the Divine influence within themselves; they knew that there was something in themselves other than themselves, but they were unable to discern this. And, so, you have numerous individuals who were prophets in this new era, who have said, "God spoke to me. Follow me, let us go in this direction." [Ed. ref.: Mary Baker Eddy, Joseph Smith, Charles Fillmore, and others.]

I would be remiss if I told you to not examine those inclinations in yourselves, but I would be even more remiss if I did not encourage you to engage in communication with your Thought Adjuster. And after these attempts, you must discern the intent of those contacts, the meaning of them, and the possible source of them. We are encouraging you to not withdraw from these contacts, but to engage them! We know that you will not drive down the highway, screaming out the window, "I am God! Follow me! I know the Truth," but that you will thoughtfully sit in reverie, in awe of this contact, and that rather than it stopping you from moving ahead, you will discern about this and strive again to contact your Thought Adjuster. We encourage you to; and if you are in doubt about that contact, about what you hear, the guidance you receive, we encourage you to discuss it with those around you, your fellow brothers and sisters of this belief, to examine that contact and its meaning.

We are encouraging you to engage in the transmission/receiving, the TR process. There is an infinite well of wisdom that is within you, and when it becomes conscious, it becomes extremely powerful to motivate you in your everyday life in your consciousness, that moment-to-moment living with the Divine. You are a well-balanced student, and you will examine this. Do not withdraw from this, but engage it. Not zealously, but cautiously, earnestly, sincerely, knowing that you are on threshold of opening the door of awareness between yourself and the Eternal. We know that you will not be frivolous, superficial, or flippant about this. When this occurs—and it already has occurred—we know that you will appreciate this and be endeared to it. (Thank you, very much!) You are welcome.

Rayson: Let me continue a bit; the cautionary note in those pages of the Urantia Book were necessary to thwart those individuals who would aggrandize their significance among their peers, due to this contact. You see, these contacts are only an initial part, an initial beginning; they are spectacular sometimes, splendiferous, and exciting. What you once were excited with at the Calliope Carrousel in the carnival became much more comfortable to be around when you grew older and were much more familiar with it. This too, develops in a similar manner; your familiarization of contact with the Divine becomes more comfortable with each new contact. Thank you for your question. (Thank you for your answer.)

Student: I have another question. We are active within a group, within an organization of spiritual seekers and it is such a strong temptation to want to share more of the Urantia Teachings with them, and I wonder if you can provide us with some suggestions or guidelines as to when or how it is appropriate to introduce some new ideas?

Rayson: Yes, I would be glad to. As you know, we do not proselytize; we do not go out and knock on peoples’ doors to sell the book, or even to present it, but to present its wisdoms in passing. You may wish to record the issues that come up in your discussions in that group, and upon returning to the group, having referenced these issues in the Urantia Book, bring a larger wisdom to the group next time. I know you have the technology to research this knowledge on the spot, through a laptop computer and a CD, with the book recorded on the compact disc, but that might be an affront to your group. But that is in essence the process —to give them a larger perspective of the issues they are engaging from a larger source, a larger body of wisdom that has greater insights. Their curiosity about how you became so wise and how you acquired these larger perspectives is a curiosity that will feed their growth and help them ask questions about where you received that material. Then, you could present the source to them. If you, first, boldly present the book to these people and say it is the source of all wise information, they may be skeptical and turn away from it. But hearing the wisdom, that comes out of it through you about issues that are of concern to them, would engage their curiosity in a much more immediate way. Does that help? (Yes, it does. Thank you.) You are welcome.

[Daniel: Looks like he’s about ready to roll up the scroll.]

Rayson: Any last questions:

Student: I have one that I will try to get out here real quick. As we become closer to becoming cosmic citizens, and we understand some of the finer details of our existence, we come across our relationship to our ego and we struggle with the question, "Who are we?" and when we do come up with the answers that we believe are true, how is it and what is a reasonable goal that we can attain and the steps to get there, to understanding what our ego’s role is, its true role, as sons of god?

Rayson: And is your question based on the last clause of your sentence?

Student: The question is based on my own understanding and discovery of what the ego is, but I am more curious about what is the role of the ego in a truly enlightened son of god? So that we can understand when we’ve got that "down," in other words, when we’ve mastered this ego?

Rayson: And I will ask you a question in return. (Okay.) What is at issue for you?

Student: At issue is as it concerns the TRing process. Daniel mentioned that he has to set the ego aside, and I am very curious as to how that relates to that process, but not only that process, but actually "doing the work" of God, of Jesus, and following in his footsteps to minister to the passers-by when things are presented to us—I should say, "opportunities" for us to share our knowledge with others. I’ve noticed that this is something of a challenge.

Rayson: And a perennial issue! I will put this very simply to you, that when you have a perceived value [for yourself] of being less than or more than others, concerning any issue involving your relationship with others, then you are in a state of ego. When you value yourself more than others, or think that an activity will give you greater value than others, or more meaning, or more preciousness in the eyes of God, then you are in a state of ego. And if you perceive yourself as less than others, for what you do or do not do, then you are in a state of ego. That is why the humble state, which is non-egoistic, as we examine it here today, is a state that will always serve you well.

When one is TRing, and does it for self-embellishment in the eyes of their peers, or others who read transcripts across the world, then they are in a state of ego and do not serve this function well at all. If, on the other hand, they are a TR, and their social friends do know about the Teaching Mission, but would look down upon them for doing this so they hide their involvement, then this too is a state of ego and does not serve them well, for they cannot come into their true empowerment through this diminished ego state. Neither embellishing or minimizing their value in the face and eyes of others serves them well, but the humble state-of-presence, as an equal to others, being of no greater or no lesser value than others, is the state that will serve you best.

When you present your teachings to others, if you do it out of superiority or you present it out of inferiority, you do not serve your cause well at all. That is why we do not encourage proselyting the teachings, but to share them openly with others, making them available to others as they wish to take them in or reject them. Simply by presenting your position and proselyting puts you in a position of superiority —you have the truth and they do not. This does not serve you well, or the cause of the Teaching Mission or the Correcting time; it does not serve Michael’s interests of all his people well at all. Does that help?

Student: It helps, but I need a little more refinement. To add to that, is there any way you can do without the ego? That’s more of what my question was geared toward, now that I have had time to examine it.

Rayson: Oh certainly not! You cannot do without the ego—it is instrumental in your growth. You must determine who is in charge of your life. If you have this wild ego, out of balance, extremely inferior or extremely superior to others, then you learn nothing. But when you become aware of the necessity of humility, then you become aware of struggling to grow in right ways, rather than embellishing your life, or minimizing it, or depreciating it. It is in you as an instrument of growth; it is yours to hone and to control, just as your will is a commander in the pilot of your mind. You are also aware —must be aware —of your decisions to embellish your life, yourself, your identity, or to minimize it. Your choices, your decisions about your presentation, of how you present yourself to others in the issues that you present, determine your position of your ego. The ego is not a flaw of your being. The ego is a very necessary instrument of your spiritual growth; it is the unruly child that must be…not reined in…or chastised or broken…but taught, guided, appreciated, raised and educated in a civilized manner. Doing that, you will become balanced between your intellectual and spiritual natures. Does that help? (That’s it!)

Student: I am so glad you asked that question! I am thinking where I tend to err is in the area of self-righteousness. I have had a sneaking suspicion all my life that I get into that trap—probably where my ego goes awry. (Group snickering as that comment hits close to home.)

Rayson: No comment! (Belly laughs take over.)

Blessings to you my friends; enjoy this day and think about your topics, your curriculum for the future. Good day. (Group thanks Rayson for the lesson.)
