Oct. 1, 1992 Lesson For Young People
In the beginning, or maybe even before that, there was always God. He was perfect: smart,
wise, fair, kind, and able to see into the future. There was this one thing, though, that He thought
would make everything even better -- someone to share with -- so He filled heaven with
companions, angels and such. They are pretty much like us, with a beginning, and they live
forever. They have jobs, like us, only they do God's work.
The great gift He made to them and us is free will, the chance to make up our own minds, even
if we are mistaken or if we want to do wrong. He trusts us to learn from the bad feeling of our
mistakes. Angels make mistakes sometimes. The Lucifer story is the story of a bad mistake.
But God thought it through so far that He made a creature so different from Him, so
almost-opposite, that it is almost an animal. That is us. Of all the smart creatures, spiritual and
physical, He gave us a chance to get better and better, never stopping, until we make it to heaven.
And He made a special gift to each of us, to make sure that we can make it with or without extra
help. He gave us each a little sliver of Himself, to give us a taste of perfect. That's what really
makes us different from our animal cousins -- not because we live in houses, they do that; not
because we wear clothes, they do that; not because we talk to each other, they kind-of do that;
not because we think, they probably do that. What makes us different is that we always know
that there is a right thing to do. We can't always see it; sometimes we never find it; sometimes we
don't care about it; sometimes we refuse it; but we always know there is a right way. That's why
we're not animals any more. It's the Father-fragment, that sliver of God, that makes us know
about right.
Everybody knows about right-and-wrong. Grownups talk about it, tell you what's right,
what's wrong. But grownups are wrong sometimes, sometimes they're mostly wrong. And even
then each person knows what is right -- no matter what other people say. That's why we are
human. That's why God loves us. That's why some people say we are God's children, and He is
our Father.
A good parent lets you do things for yourself. A good parent lets you make your own
mistakes, and lets you learn at your own speed. A good parent shows how it's done right, then
gets out of the way. A good parent teaches about the important things, and lets the little things
take care of themselves.
God is always busy, but never so busy that He can't listen to us. What He says is hard to
understand. Most people think He has never spoken to them. But He helps us from the inside. If
we trust ourselves, and work at what is right, everything will work out. We won't need to speak
in words. We will be living with God -- always a happy feeling.
That doesn't mean it will be easy. We are not like Him -- not yet anyway. And He knows it's
hard. So He sent His son, so that we would have an example to look to.
His son was born as an ordinary person. He gave up all his God-powers, and was born into a
human family as a little helpless baby. He was called Jesus, just a regular boy in a regular village,
with parents and brothers and sisters in a stone house with a dirt floor. He didn't grow up rich or
spoiled or fancy. He didn't go to private school, or get special treats because he was smart or
handsome. He was just a regular kid, with all the problems of every other kid, and maybe some
extra. His mother told him one thing was right, and his father said something different. But he
made it through all right, just like everybody else. He had friends that helped him, and bullies that
picked on him, and girls who liked him and others who didn't. He never had a lot of money, and
he always had a lot of work to do. But he had one thing that he paid special attention to: he felt
sure that there was always a right way, and he worked on that, thought about it, talked to
teachers and old people about it. And later on, when he was older, after thinking for so long
about what was right, he found out who he was. All the things he did, up to that point, are the
things we should all do too. That's just ordinary stuff, for every one of us. Jesus proved that any
ordinary person could know all about God, just by what was inside.
And if he could do it, so can each of us. He went back to his place in heaven, and when we
feel like we can't take it any more, we can always speak to him. He knows. He understands.
That will help us get back on track.
Well, everybody gets to make up their own mind about these things. You might think this is
baloney, or some dumb grownup stuff, but it's not. It's everybody's stuff, and it doesn't matter if
you are a kid or a grownup, this stuff never changes -- you just get busier. Pretty soon, you can
train yourself never to think about this stuff, but it's always there. It sneaks out, and you find
yourself thinking about right again. Can't stop God, you can only look away for a while. Maybe
when you find yourself wishing for something right, you'll feel that connection. Know what it is?
It's God calling. And if you do right, it can change everything.

WILL: The love of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us. The love of God supports
us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Good evening, my friends. Thank you for your company tonight. I am your teacher, Will,
who loves you.
We are approaching our anniversary passage. We used this long stillness exercise to attempt
to examine your practice. I think that this would be a good point to exchange questions and
answers about individual stillness practice since that is the key to our entire effort. If every person
chooses to participate, it will take at least two Sunday meetings. So during this coming week
please make an extra effort to attempt the stillness and compose a question relating to your own
practice. We will begin next week.
Its not always comfortable being alone with God. The experience is usually full of intrusive
thoughts. You wonder where to put your feet, how you should hold your mouth, if you should
think some certain thing or not think some certain things. It is difficult to instruct people in what
they should do. We have had almost a year of discovery. I think it is a good start although I will
tell you frankly that regularity is more important than success. It is never time to sleep on your
awards.
The stillness practice, in one way, is going into the quiet place in yourself. Many people find
this place to be theoretical. They agree that it must be somewhere but all the doors look the
same. For most people, successful stillness practice means marking the door. Once you move
away from the door you are subject to all of the other factors of life. The times that you are
excited, the times that you are relaxed, the times that the pressures of daily life catch up, the times
that they are discharged. The times that you worry about the things that have yet to pass and
those that already have. When you find the door with the mark on it, straighten your back and
open it. You see nothing. This is frustrating to most people.
I think the best description of it is standing on the bow of a large ship so far above the water
and so far projected forward that even the ship's prow, cutting through the waves makes no sound
that reaches the listener. You look out into the fog, all your senses keen and there is simply no
information. No thoughts, no vision, no smells, no sounds, no feelings. And yet, you are
surrounded with concern and love and guidance. We are prohibited from interfering with the time
you have with the Father.
Communication, when it develops, is not at all like this experience. True stillness identification
and soul connection with the Heavenly Father. Communication with one of us is a busy affair.
It's full of mistakes, suggestions, ineptly phrased remarks and information that generally leads the
human immediately off upon unproductive tangents. Stillness is pure. Communication is like a
library in a foreign country and it is not quiet. It is a messy business. Stillness is asked.
Communication is offered. They are not the same. In fact, they have virtually nothing to do with
one another. Stillness will prepare you for communication. It doesn't work the other way around.
So, we approach an anniversary. It is time to get serious. That doesn't mean we won't have
jokes. It doesn't mean we won't make mistakes. It is time to get serious about stillness practice.
Next week we will begin discussions. This week try to get a mark on the door that will last so
that you can come and go as you please. Finding your way back is always a problem. Until next
week, Shalom.

WILL: The love of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us. The power of God supports
us. Wherever we gather, He is.
Welcome and good evening. I am your teacher, Will, who loves you. [Telephone rings,
answering machine answers, caller leaves a message.] There's always communication. Thank you
with your indulgence with our long stillness session tonight. For some of the group members it is
the only stillness practice that they do, so, since this is a powerful setting for stillness practice, we
like them to have good and deep experience. We have observers tonight; many spirit teachers are
interested in our group as they would be in any group which approaches an anniversary date. A
measure, by some standard, of how far all of you have traveled in approximately one earth year.
We know that all of you feel that this is so. Your presence proves it.
Well, there is no particular way that we should go about this commemorization of this
milepost. Any method that you prefer will be acceptable. We will try to respond within our
limitations. As you have probably discerned by now through your stillness practice, the
limitations are becoming progressively few. You are earning your way toward heaven. For the
moment, I would like to limit our question and answer discussions to those matters directly
related to stillness practice since that is the thrust of our ministry. You have all developed far
enough that private meetings, properly recorded and made available to other group members, will
be suitable as methods of inquiry into private areas of interest. For now, the floor is open.
Question away.
HAL: OK, I'll kick it off here. I've noticed in stillness practice two different feelings or two
different feeling qualities that stillness tends to have and each one seems to have a characteristic, I
guess I would call it a spacial orientation. One of those is more of an inward going feeling maybe
centered roughly around the heart area. It often seems very stable and calm, a relaxing
experience.
The second kind of feeling is more of an outward and upward feeling roughly centered around
the forehead and then up and out. It often seems to be sort of a, something like approaching a
worship experience sometimes, often high energy, feeling of energy coming down or into you,
things like that. I was wondering if you could comment on these feelings. What they correspond
to in reality, if anything. If one is better than the other, that sort of thing.
WILL: Second scenario first. The sensation that you perceive connected to your head with an
invigorating quality is the spirit gravity pull centered in the Son - the Eternal Son of the Trinity.
Many people understand the concept of spiritual gravity as a one way, mono directional, flow, but
this perception overlooks the fact that there is a feeling of discovery and a feeling of momentum
connected and those feelings cause invigoration of the human who experiences connection with
spiritual gravity.
Scenario one, second. The Indwelling Adjuster, though not possessing qualities which we
would describe as personality qualities, is nonetheless cut from the cloth of the Father. The
Father, primarily, is a loving creature. It is inescapable that the fragment separated from Him
which lives in you should cause profound feelings of oneness and identification, openness and
love. Does that answer?
HAL: Yes, that is very helpful, thank you.
WILL: Next question.
JOAN: I have combined some prayer and visualization at the beginning of my meditation then
basically done TM without the mantra. Biofeedback has shown that this produces alpha waves
and a feeling of deep relaxation. Is this deep silence a suitable platform from which to focus a
reaching to God without and the fragment within and is the purpose of this practice to grow
closer to God and synchronize my will with His? And can I use this same silence platform to
focus on listening for inner guidance or would it be better from a shallower level of meditation?
WILL: Transcendental meditation and similar techniques of meditation are recommended except
to the extent that they lead to obliteration of consciousness. Obliteration of consciousness is a
difficult concept to convey. So long as your transcendental meditation does not fall below the
state of relaxation with a feeling of readiness to it, with a feeling of potentiality to it, you do well.
An absolute requirement of stillness practice, as taught in this ministry, is consciousness. You
must be conscious. Therefore we attempt to discourage people from becoming entangled in
elaborate schemes of self projection or identification with natural phenomena or celestial bodies in
the astronomic sky. Or practices such as astral projection. Where you are, who you are, is
always good enough for God. You need not remake yourself. God loves you anyway.
God's communication with you is not conveyed with human words; certainly not in the
English language nor any language that we recognize. God's communication is spirit to spirit;
spark to spark; forehead to forehead; palm to palm. You are becoming progressively
spiritualized. As you make progress, your communication with the Father is more complete, has
more depth, more breadth of front. You are increasing your contact area at the point of
intersection with results that I will leave to your imagination. That, too, is part of the experience.
It is not necessary to think certain thoughts or to listen to certain sounds or even to hope to
identify and repeat certain feelings which are naturally spawned by the active communication,
person to person, with the Heavenly Father. It is enough for you to earn all the necessary stripes
simply by making yourself available. That is the most important part. Make yourself available for
God. What you do or don't do or try to do in addition to that simple fact of availability is trivial.
I can say with absolute authority that God appreciates you. He is waiting to share Himself. He is
ever polite in His mannerisms. By making yourself available, you invite Him to enter your life.
Through the process of age and the normal ups and downs of life which vary from hour to
hour, great variety is experienced in the type and tenacity of connection available with the
Heavenly Father. It is meant to be so. Jesus of Nazareth did not have a certain mentality or point
of view which he maintained all through life. He lived the full range as a human and he
experienced exactly the same surge of emotions, joys and disappointments, irritations and
happinesses that each of you experience every day. It was not necessary for him to go to any
particular place in his personality in order to communicate with the Heavenly Father. To the
extent that you somehow identify a practical and productive place to which you go to make
yourself available to the Father, then we encourage you to utilize that, yet we will say that it is not
exclusive. The Father is always there. The only limitations on your communication with Him are
those which you impose upon yourselves. This doesn't have to be a [dreary] exercise. There is
no reason why communication with the Father should not be lighthearted, happy, full of
snickering and jokes. Availability is the key. Is that satisfactory?
JOAN: That is a beautiful answer, thank you.
SUSAN: I think many of us, on occasion, are disgruntled when we try to practice stillness, which
implies, no, which specifies stillness. We close our eyes and lots and lots of other thoughts come
in and the harder we try to keep from thinking of daily things the more they intrude. We begin to
feel like we are not getting anywhere and we give up in self disgust. I don't think that I am alone
in having that feeling on occasion. Do we just keep sitting there and hope for the best?
WILL: You know, by design, you are intended to be thinking creatures. Your thoughts are one
of your chief products. I heard many good thoughts tonight. Traded. Traded up, improved
upon, so that they became sort of a currency amongst the members of the group tonight
concerning death and the afterlife. You might even say that thoughts are a part of the currency of
the universe. You know, in the afterlife, people are not exclusively limited to profound thoughts.
[Laughter] It is the interchange of ideas expressed as thoughts that provides the vehicle for people
to gain experience, to gain understanding, to gain a modicum of wisdom without having to endure
the necessity of individual discovery of every facet of the universe. In order to arrive on the
shores of Paradise, it is necessary to have seen all and to have grasped all, but you all also know
that you have but one material life to live and so you are not chained to the personal experiential
collection of all evidence in order to reach the ultimate goal. That is why I can say that thoughts
are part of the currency of the universe.
So we do not prescribe that you attempt to stop your thoughts. Stillness, like life in general, is
about keeping your mind on the most important thing. It is not necessary to root out all your
thoughts. Simply let them pass through. They are only bit players on the scene anyway. One of
the design flaws of the ego is that it attempts to organize things for which it is unfit. The ego tries
to extend its authority into areas of the personality where it is not properly designed for
preeminence. The human ego will attempt to organize and thereby inescapably trivialize spiritual
experience. It will seek to categorize and pair off in polar opposites those experiences which
might otherwise be quite productive to you. The ego does this any time you focus attention and
is naturally intended to function in this manner. If, however, rather than focusing your attention
upon any particular thought, which the ego naturally interprets as needing some organization, then
that thought will float past and off the stage. Do not vex yourself over your thoughts. We
recommend that you attempt stillness practice for ten minutes at a time. Twenty minutes at the
outside extremity. If you find that you are burdened with extraneous thoughts during your
stillness practice at a regular time each day, experiment with the time frame in which you practice
your stillness. You might find a certain time of the day more conducive. Does that address your
concern?
SUSAN: Yes, thank you and I have found occasionally that trains of thought lead to insights
sometimes so, yeah, thanks.
WILL: Next question.
KATHY: Could you address the phenomenon that some of us experience of pressure.
WILL: The pressure that you feel is a physiological manifestation in changes in magnetism which
are occurring as a part of the reencircuiting process. Because of the large salt water content of
your blood stream system, your bodies are peculiarly sensitive to ionization and subtle changes in
the magnetic surroundings which are manipulated from time to time mostly as a result of the
comings and goings of certain spirit personalities. [Dog barks, laughter] The simplest way to
describe it is as if a magnet is passed through a field of charged particles. Every particle in the
field feels the pull of the passage of the magnetically charged object depending upon proximity. I
do not believe we have caused any pain to anyone and I can see that it might be somewhat
disturbing but I assure you that it is not biological manipulation of individual humans. Rather it is
a consequence of other personality activities. For the moment that is all I can say on this topic.
KATHY: While you are physiological things, the second thing I experienced at one time,
especially when I was practicing more regularly, was a sort of a G force and a feeling of going
upwards and it was always followed by definitely a quickening and a better feeling at the end of
that. Is that also included in that sort of thing or is it strictly a psychological phenomena?
WILL: No, I would not describe it as a psychological phenomenon. I am fairly certain that what
you are experiencing is the same as your colleague, the connection with spirit gravity to which all
self aware creatures are subject flowing individually to them from the second person of the
Trinity. One more question tonight.
SUSAN: A quicky. This seems maybe real simple but are prayer, stillness and attempts to be
available for communication three separate entities? Yes or No. If so, we set aside more time.
WILL: [Loud dog howls continue] Creatures are stirring.
Readers of this transcript will be puzzled if we do not define our terms. For our present
purposes, stillness is a technique of prayer. Prayer is an awfully large concept. Ideally it should
subsume our entire lives. For purposes of this discussion though, we should perhaps call stillness
a subset of prayer. Stillness not being anything concerned with petitions or supplications or
entreaties or attempts to solicit favor or benefits for yourself or anyone else. Stillness is
communication with the Father. He talks, you listen.
Making yourself available for communications with other personalities is supplementary to
stillness practice. It is possible to forgo stillness practice and only communicate. Most of you
will find this very difficult and I think I can assure you that you will not find it particularly
satisfying although I do not expect you to believe me. Communication is generally puzzling,
disruptive, disturbing and the cause for more doubt than previously existed. It simplifies nothing
and usually complicates everything. However, communication is essential to the progress of this
ministry, at least until members of this group begin to have some preliminary and reliable
communication with their individual Indwelling Adjusters. So, the short answer is yes.
My connection grows thin. Let us continue these discussions next week. I hope you have
found our exchange tonight productive.
ALL: Yes, very.
WILL: Until next week then, I wish you well and encourage you to return to regular practice so
that we can all get on the train together. I love you all individually and collectively you amount to
far more than even you estimate.
Shalom.

WILL: The love of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us. The power of God supports
us. Wherever we gather, He is.
Good evening once again. I am your teacher, Will, who always loves you. I enjoyed your
comments tonight. I found particularly instructive your comments on the dearth of comments
from last week's meeting. I will say that it does not indicate anything particularly valuable that
people should have immediate comments or immediate perceptions responding to the teachings
offered in our meetings. There is great variety among people. We are particularly pleased with
this group simply because of the variety of people gathered here tonight. I have great confidence
in the teachings we present in these meetings yet I am unable to calculate their effect upon the
individual members of this group. That work is in the realm of the Adjuster.
If it is alright I would like to describe, in some detail, what I consider to be the human problem
each of you faces when intersecting with the spiritual world. If we look at the material universe,
the worlds of trees, animals and planets, as a horizontal universe extending out in every direction
to infinity on a flat plane. By contrast, we might see the spiritual universe as a universe
intersecting the material at right angles. You might think of the material universe as a stage and
the spiritual universe as a column of light shining down from directly above. You are on the
stage. Where do we see the light? Where it intersects the stage. How do we know it is light?
Because it intersects the stage. The onlookers from a similar horizontal perspective cannot see
light falling directly upon the stage. Occasionally they get glimpses, motes of dust and smoke
which happen to pass through the beam of light, but, for all practical purposes, the light can be
seen only where it strikes the stage. That is you.
Each person's life is the intersection of that column of spirit light with the horizontal stage of
the material life. You are creatures of the horizontal universe. When you look out, you look out
upon a horizontal universe. It is really all you know. Yet the ministry of the Adjusters, kindly
and lovingly provided by the Heavenly Father, is the hint that another universe lies beyond having
virtually nothing whatever to do with the horizontal and material universe. If you but look up, it
is blinding. It is all encompassing and it draws you on like a magnet. That is the function of the
Adjuster, to reorient your awareness from the strictly material toward the purely spiritual.
Well then, where are we, personalities such as myself? We are out there in the ether. We are
the dust. We pass through and, occasionally initiate some effects. The fact of material life among
humans, the human species, blessed with a gift of personality lends itself to a kind of fortification
of the characteristics of personality is to define the beam of light, at least at the point of
intersection. And the personality tends to fort up within its own illuminated space. We call this
selfishness. We call it introspection. It is a natural process. It has occasional negative effects,
however. The chief negative effect is the isolation from companions in the material life
experience. Therefore we have emphasized in the past a concept of assigning interpersonal
communication responsibilities to the Adjuster, an active neutral. We have encouraged you each
to allow your Adjuster to lead interrelationships with your brother's and sister's Adjusters. Even
though it is true that you can know God as He is meant to be known, as He desires to be known,
solely upon your own interconnection by means of the Thought Adjuster, that is not all there is to
the spiritual universe. For your place in time is but one beam of light and there are countless. It is
necessary for each of you to go beyond the walls of the court and walk out into the dark. I think
that you will find when you attempt this that the light will travel with you. These are my words
for you tonight.
I understand that you have questions. Let us proceed as we did last week. First question,
please.
DENNIS: Will, I have a question. Last week you mentioned that when we meditate we should
meditate for no more than twenty minutes. Sometimes I meditate in a darkened room and I am
not always aware of how much time has transpired. Is there any danger in getting too much of a
good thing?
WILL: The term "danger" would be inaccurate to use to describe the situation. Let us describe it
like this. We are just beginning. Availability for the Heavenly Father is what is desired. Next,
regularity is desired. By this we do not mean any specific frame of mind or attitude or mind set
nor do we mean any particular time of day. By regularity we mean only a good and faithful
ordinary attempt to practice on a regular basis. Because we are beginning, we feel that modesty is
an appropriate goal. Ten minutes is asked, twenty minutes at the further reaches. Our experience
in observation of people in your society in this period of history is that substantially more than
twenty minutes is likely to be unproductive. This does not mean that to practice longer will be
offensive in any way. It is just that statistically it has been shown to be unproductive. We have
experimented with this at great length. Do not trouble yourself over the amount of time. The
Heavenly Father is always willing to communicate. It is not necessary that you should say any
particular thing or think any particular thought or pursue any particular notion. Your simple
availability is how it all begins. He appreciates it. There is no point at which the Heavenly Father
will turn His face away from one of His children. You can do no damage. Satisfactory?
DENNIS: Yes, thank you.
WILL: Good. Next question.
HAL: I was wondering, Will, if you have any comments about physical posture during silence
practice.
WILL: There are a few parameters of psychological and physiological character which have
effect upon stillness practice. We prefer, for example, that you do not attempt stillness practice
when you are near the extreme reaches of physical effort. At such a time your body needs sleep,
rest at the very least. The Father will not interfere with that. Neither should you take on a large
dose of stimulating drugs, such as tea or coffee. That situation would be equally unproductive as
a polar opposite. Nor would it be especially effective if a person was in a great agitated emotional
state, although we will say that stillness is generally the proper remedy for agitation and should
work to swiftly bring you back into balance with your normal self. Such does not equal
communication with the Heavenly Father, however. To answer your question, then, I will say
that the ideal would be an attitude of relaxed alertness. We have many times remarked that
stillness practice must be conscious and in simple fashion it is easy to figure out that certain body
positions are more productive of relaxed alertness. In a general sense body positions that tend to
interrupt the flow of physical energy also tend to produce - I am searching for a word -
impairment of the flow of energy. This will cause a necessary diminishment of the available body
energy with a negative effect upon relaxed alertness. We have no preference for body posture but
in its most basic form I would say a person should maintain an erect position, relaxed with the
limbs in some natural resting position and not twisted, tied or knotted in any particular mystical
fashion. Does that answer?
HAL: Yes, thank you Will, that's helpful.
WILL: Next question.
JUDY: Will, this is Judy. I'm sorry I couldn't be here last week but I did listen to the tapes and
read the transcripts so, as a fellow teacher, I just wanted you to know that I had prepared for
tonight's lesson. As I was reading over the transcript I came up with four statements that I think
are true and I would like to check them out with you. So, I have four statements that I would like
you to respond to and then I have two questions.
The first statement is that our vehicle for spiritual growth is stillness, our connection with the
Father.
The second one is that by making ourselves available to the Father, that's the key to the
stillness but it doesn't have a specific form or format.
The third one is that the more we can listen to our Indwelling Adjuster and be sensitive to
guidance the more we might be able to trust our own insights about our daily lives and get our
lives more in tune with the Father's will.
And the last one is that as we approach the anniversary date of this group it occurs to me that
we have spent a great deal of time trying to understand communication because it is a phenomena
that's novel to us but we are just now beginning to realize that stillness should be the important
focus of our attention. Can you comment on my four thoughts?
WILL: I embrace themes two, three and four exactly as you have stated yet I will offer a
refinement about stillness practice as the method of spiritual growth. Long ago on your planet
people in the Northern Hemisphere recognized that although the picture presented among the
stars in the nighttime sky was changing throughout the course of the night, there was one star
around which all things rotated. That one star was reliable. It appeared every night in exactly the
same place and, no matter the motion of the other stars, that polestar could be relied upon until
the morning sun dawned. The polestar is not a bright star. It is rather dim, but it is just as
reliable. Knowledge of the polestar made life more reliable for those people. It did not make it
any easier. They had a more sturdy tool for navigating the passages of life but it did not take
them there. They had a method of transiting from one learning experience to another, but the
polestar itself did not provide the experience. The polestar provided the opportunity.
You are responsible for your spiritual growth. The First Source and Center has provided you
an opportunity. He is reliable. He is always there. Even when the blazing sun rises, He is still
there, you just cannot see Him. Your reliance upon that polestar is a tool for navigating the
passages of life. It is not life, itself. That is necessarily within your realm.
Questions.
JUDY: My first question is, I appreciated your distinction between communication and stillness
and your analogy of standing on the bow of a large ship with an image of a fog around me, was
helpful. I have tried to visualize during stillness times and I've tried to concentrate on things
inside my head. How can we measure success? How do we know we if we've made the
connection with the Father, so that we can attain it again?
WILL: I will say this, and I do not mean it to be harsh. To recapture, to repeat experience, in
general, is a bad idea. The necessary function of ego will overtake the repeated experience and
trivialize it for you. There is no way to know whether a person is making fast progress or slow
progress or progress on a tangent. Even if I were to counsel you, it would be worthless. What
you seek is in the realm of the Adjuster. The Adjuster is your guide. The lessons presented may
or may not prove productive. But I think I can guarantee that the method in which the Adjuster
operates will always contain an element of surprise. The Adjuster, by nature, can be nothing but
spontaneous. This is a discomforting situation for the human and explains, in large measure, why
people have created bureaucracies to administer the relationship between man and God. There is
no such thing as comfortable spiritual growth. It is always disturbing. It is always provocative.
But the result is usually happy. Does that answer?
JUDY: I think so. I'll have to think about it and read the transcript. My second question is, last
week you addressed the pressure that some of us feel and I found that to be helpful but what I feel
is a tingling especially in my forehead. At first I interpreted that as celestial presence and I wanted
to know if that was the same thing as the pressure that some of my friends feel. Sometimes I feel
it in the middle of a meditation and sometimes in the middle of a busy day when I'm not
necessarily thinking of spiritual things and I would like to know if I should I pay attention to it or
is it just something that is hanging around?
WILL: [pause] Adjuster activity is the cause for your sensations. Because your preferred
method of interaction with the world outside is through an intellectual format, your Adjuster is
attempting to create additional access space for brain function which is under your control. As
opposed to the general undirected and unused brain potential, which most people never properly
organize. [pause] The Adjuster is trying to facilitate your preferred method and deliver to you all
the thinking power you desire and more. Your Adjuster intends a lesson. But, of course, it is an
experiential lesson. You do not find these changes threatening, do you?
JUDY: No, I generally find them pleasurable and comforting.
WILL: This is an area in which I am not fully informed.
KATHY: Was that answer specific to Judy?
WILL: Yes.
JUDY: When that happens in the middle of a busy day, is there something I should stop and do?
Like try and be more sensitive to the situation?
WILL: Think of it as more power coming on line. You are in for a wild ride.
JUDY: I'm looking forward to it.
WILL: Let's take a short break. [break]
[Discussion ensues about ending the meeting at the break because of the lateness of the time. It is
decided to get Will back to say goodbye to her before we leave.]
WILL: I thank you for your thought. Goodbyes, like introductions, are important. The Father
does not desire a great deal of ceremony; loving attention is enough, but greetings and partings
are important. So I thank you for the opportunity to say goodnight and we will continue our
question and answer sessions until every member in the group has had an opportunity to ask at
least one question regarding their personal progress and any questions they may have about
experiences, sensations or insights.
I relish your company. I look forward to our next meeting. Until then, may God keep you
and walk with you.
Shalom.

MICHAEL: One year ago only a few feet from the spot where we are now meeting a group of
long known acquaintances sat. You each knew, in some detail, the history and irritating
characteristics of your fellows. You welcomed a stranger who brought my message, a message
designed to serve as good news, to lift your spirits, to set your feet on the higher path. You
welcomed that stranger. You listened to my words. Then, in turn, you welcomed my teacher, a
daughter of God named Will who has faithfully served me and you as a presenter of my humble
message.
I see now that your feet are firmly on the path. I see that you have the beginnings of
understanding of my teaching. One thing remains. I ask you to pick up my lamp and hold it high,
the better to illuminate the way not only for yourselves but also your companions, those yet
unknown to you whom you chance to meet along the path. I ask this of you because I know you
are up to it and, as you pass me, I shall hold the doorway open for you. Your journey is just
beginning. It is the only path with heart. You are remaking yourselves with the goal of perfection
itself. I salute you. Godspeed.
Until we meet again, I am Michael and I understand.
[long pause]
WILL: The love of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us. The power of God supports
us. Wherever we gather, He is.
Good evening. I am your teacher, Will, who loves you. Our Master has spoken. He is the
Perfect One who has overcome all the obstacles and in whom the Heavenly Father has vested all
confidence. I have nothing to add to his words except, I love you. We make a good team, you
and I. We are just beginning. We all look forward to a long and productive relationship. That is
what an anniversary means to an eternal.
Shalom.
