Cherubim “What-About-Bob”

Midwayer Chief, Gorman.

Subject: “Transmitting Receiving – Part One.”

Received by Gerdean Bowen.

Lady: “There was some talk that Gorman was coming to see you this evening but I haven’t seen him yet, and that may well be where Bob has gone (to get Gorman). I know we made this appointment last week so I’ll not be dissuaded from our appointment. Can I do anything for you while we anticipate Gorman’s arrival and Bob’s return? Well, speak of the Devil!”

Participant (joking): “Is he here, too?”

Bob: “He has been banished from our sight. This is What-about-Bob. I’m not even a Devil’s Advocate. I am truly harmless. Good evening.”

Participant: “Good to see you.”

Bob: “I have indeed brought Gorman with me because the message was clearly written in the ethers, yes, if you like, but there are questions having to do with the transmitting experience, and it is Gorman’s expertise. Let me just put Gorman on the line, as it were, and I will stand here with my mate, observing your interchange. Okay?”

Gorman: “Gorman here. Good evening, comrades. It’s rather gusty in your environment, and it does have bearing on the receptivity of a transmitter/receiver – a broadcast station. I am going to forge ahead in the face of the mayhem around us. We shall be the calm in the eye of the hurricane.

“Hi, George! It’s good to be in your energy field again. I have been enjoying the communal work you are doing with Gerdean. It is networking, fellow-shipping at its best, mutually supportive and ultimately in praise of real deity. Participant, would you be so good as to present the concerns posed in George’s post?”

Participant: “Okay. First one: What do we do with beginners’ work? Do we simply place it aside and advise the channeler to try, try and try again? Become perfect first? Do we discourage them? Encourage them? Do we simply fail to respond and therewith also discourage the new channeler?”

Gorman: “All right. I’ll address that. Thank you for asking. It is a sensitive question, having to do with ethics, if you will, more than fraternity, but with fraternity as a root connection, it calls for diplomacy, and perhaps even teaching, because you see, you are not in a position of just being anybody. You are a moderator of a list. In fact, you are the navigator of a concept – a viable reality, one in which you have invested your life.

“It is, therefore, your work as well as your play and so you do have a responsibility to the integrity of the platform you have created and the principle you have founded, fostered, and would develop if given any opportunity. However, these would-be receivers in this stage of Phase II are often, though not always impresarios, or impressionists, and this is fine because it helps them gain a personal intuitive sense of the caliber of communication they aspire to reach. It is not the same as children playing dress-up or adult roles, and yet there is a sweet similarity.

“There is nothing more damaging than to discourage someone’s intent to communicate with the divine by saying “It isn’t good enough.” And so, of course, you want to nurture along the budding broadcast station. But it is EVER true, you cannot transmit what you haven’t got; and if you are young, you haven’t got much because you haven’t lived much, and that’s the truth. Relatively speaking. But of course there are always exceptions. There is always the very young old man, and the very old soul of a boy. But in the main, it requires handling the situation with kid gloves.

“But here you bring up an interesting point because what if they emit what they know and it is clear to you that what they know isn’t worth its salt – if only because you have lived longer and wizened some in the process. Well, that’s where the ethics come in, because you don’t want to disavow a person’s religious experience. But you can – if you are wise – debunk falseness. But how do you know what is false and what is true?

“This, my boy, is where you benefit from having the textbook, the simple fact of creation and development in the universe as presented by the scholars who put that text together. There are enough general guidelines there to establish a wave of reality that could carry this planet into the next epoch, the next dispensation. But what we certainly do not need is more retardation, more arguing philosophy and theology along the way.

“If there is some truth, if it contributes in some way, to some one’s enlightenment; if it helps bring one individual in their peculiar and original (if demented) mentality to the recognition of the love of God, it is well worth the embarrassment of putting on your site a transmission that is most likely going to be subjected to a pelting with tomatoes.

“It, therefore, will require you to be attentive, paternal and creative in dealing with your young progeny, for these are truly your progeny, George. They are your charges, as it were. Yes. And you are in a position to guide and counsel them, knowingly and lovingly, as a Father, as a mentor, and with great sincerity. Encourage the little nippers OR intimate emphatically their talents may lie in other gifts. Have they tried healing?

“Is that helpful, George?”

“I suppose this is something you want to put on your list. I’m not going to suggest how you are going to have to edit this. That is your job; you are the editor. Anything else there?

Part 2

Albuquerque, New Mexico, May 19, 2003.

Midwayer Chief, Gorman.

Subject: “Transmitting Receiving – Part Two.”

Received by Gerdean Bowen.

Gorman: “Anything else there?

Participant: “Yes, sir. It says, ‘Might a more experienced receiver even try to ‘drum up’ the midwayer involved in that early, halting effort and re-channel this message?’

Gorman: “Oh, of course! Certainly! By all means. It is possible for an experienced receiver to do all manner of creative things, but whether they are called for or not is another matter. I suspect a good percentage of receiving is provoked by a fledgling receiver, hell bent on participating in the process. And there is really nothing wrong with that because, you know, when you pray you don’t just start praying. You have been practicing how to pray all along! You practiced thousands of years ago before you had any real spirit concept, by babbling out loud and listening to yourself think. This was the beginning of prayer.

“Now you babble out loud and listen to yourself think and if you are lucky, if you are smart, if you are tuned in, you will tune in to that voice – that still, quiet voice within your soul, not the one between your ears – and hear what the message is, and convey that message if it is appropriate.

“And for heaven’s sake, conveying that message from within is appropriate in far more ways than this simple and often stilted technique of transmitting/receiving, which, God knows, is only enjoyed by a small focal group of people here. Many fields are much more acceptable, and as legitimate as any in turning people onto their mind’s eye.

“But the truly advanced, the “gurus” shall we say (and don’t let that term catch on), are co-creators and they understand that it is a waltz, a pas de deux, a dance for two, and one is doing the leading and one is doing the following, and when God is doing the leading, or your Higher Power, or a Celestial Artisan, or a Perfected Ministering Spirit, and you the mortal are following its lead, then you can offer it everything you have to work with.

“Open yourself wide! Give them every file in your filing cabinet. If they don’t want to use it, that’s fine. They have the Akashic records, for heaven’s sake, to draw upon. It isn’t limited to the human experience, but the human experience can’t be beat, for teaching. And some lessons can’t be taught yet because the student isn’t ready.

“You, the receivers are in no position to make that determination. This is where some receivers run into trouble; they try to edit what the teacher wants to say, they try to get the teacher to say what they think and what they feel. And this happens! But it doesn’t happen often enough to worry about, and if it is happening in someone all the time, if that is just the way they are, then you will know that pretty soon, and you won’t be interested in what they are espousing, because it isn’t speaking to you. You know what you want to hear, if you’re listening for Spirit.

“It’s rather like going to the Orient and hearing the Japanese women sing a song. To the westerner’s ear, it’s a horrible howling sound, worse than cats! There are some tribes that have such guttural music, such a sensual beat… well, when “The Rites of Spring” was played for the first time, the ladies were fainting in the aisles from the primitive, sexual beat that enveloped the entire theater! But today “The Rites of Spring” is a passable afternoon’s delight. So some of this is just what you are accustomed to, what you will listen to.

“Nobody is going to force anyone to listen to something that doesn’t make sense to them. We want you to make sense of it in such a way that you feel at home in it, that you can grasp it, embrace it, be taught by it, be led by it, be shown, something that addresses your soul needs and makes you sublimely happy. Heaven knows we are not a satanic cult. We haven’t got time for that rot. We are busy helping people, loving people, learning more about each other and about God, for heaven sake. We haven’t time to sit around “faking” transmissions.

Have you got another question there?

Part 3

The Barnard-Bowen List

Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Midwayer Chief, Gorman.

Cherubim “What About Bob?”

Subject: “Transmitting Receiving – Part Three.”

Received by Gerdean Bowen.

 May 19, 2003

Participant: “I believe this is the final question: “Midwayers are all too happy to assist. What does it then become? A transmission? Inspired writing? Or both? And how does Michael feel about all that?”

Gorman: “Well, I haven’t got His ear at the moment to ask Him just off the top of my head, but I will proceed with the part that I can respond to, and that is, it is a matter of degrees, George, and propensity.

“If you have a personality that stands out because it has been honed on the anvil of experience, then it ought to know what its strengths are and what is a waste of time. If you are still trying to find the personality and you are experimenting with aspects of reality, those courses in life’s learning that give you character and color, we will deal with that, too.

“We’re not proud. We don’t have to have the fittest. That is to say, we are not just looking for the ones who are already the well crafted. If the Father is good enough to respond to the slightest flicker, I guess we can muster up ourselves to do something along those lines, as well.

“I tell you though, it’s more about sincerity than anything. A lot of people run into trouble with this internet communication and written word because it is not possible to see humor. If it is conveyed through words, it has to be done very artfully in order for the humor to come through, but the fact is, the composition of the general audience you appeal to are the meek, childlike, tender, perhaps wounded, sorrowful, hopeful creatures who seek a better tomorrow, a higher reality.

“They want to feel safe, they want to feel loved. After that, then it’s okay if they are entertained, but they want sincerity. They have to have sincerity.

“If you don’t have sincerity slathered on your bread, you won’t be able to get them to eat your sandwich. Sincerity is essential. More essential than the mayonnaise that holds it together. After you have shown your sincerity, advance into entertainment and even humor but never relinquish the essential sincerity that is required if you want them to eat it. The sandwich, that is.

“And how does Michael feel about all that?

“Well, the last time Michael and I had a chat about my work, He was quite pleased with it, and one of the things I do is enable receivers to connect with the supreme intelligences. I translate from the universe language into the native tongue of the transmitter/receiver messages from On High. That is how I get a title of “communicator” but I also entertain myself with such assignments as I enjoyed under Damalia with the Light and Life website, the Harp of God Foundation, the O’Dell-Bowen Enterprise, and the Oz Connection.

“I am sure God knows we are good kids with good intentions. If we get too far off the beam, I have every confidence our loving Parents will get us back on track and will not let us do real damage to any of their children. In fact, I think it’s alright to think of ourselves as “approved of” and “encouraged” inasmuch as it is a valuable lure to be able to talk with the Spirits.

“What a pleasure it is to sit in your company again, you two! We’ll think of something to do one of these days in order to spend some time together. In the meantime, thanks George, for calling out and … ”

[Very long pause]

Gerdean: “He’s gone. I have the feeling he is conversing with Bzutu. Anyway.

Bob: “What-About-Bob? I am here. I’m not going to stay long, however. I think you have enough to do in transcribing all that. It’s far to long for the list. If George wants to use it, he’ll have to chop it up into three pieces, but that’s not for me to say. I am not here to ‘Make Policy’ regarding these processes you get yourselves into as mortals. I rather leave that to you and the midwayers. I simply sit back and we study, observe, commentate when found advisable.

“We’ll see you next week. Have a good evening.”
