Subject: “What Is Really Important?”

Received by Oscar.

Teacher: “What is really important in your life?  Sometimes you worry about things that make no sense, or have no eternal value.  Does it matter how long you will live?  Are you like a bird trying to figure out how to spend more time inside your cage?

“I will always remind you of what is really important.  I will always be here to guide your efforts, your inspiration, and your search for goals that are truly valuable for your eternal life.  You just have to come to me and ask.

“Many of the things society demands of you through the media are not really necessary.  Many artificial needs have been put upon the shoulders of human beings, particularly in the richer countries.  Start to enjoy the freedom of understanding that all you need is already within you; that your true needs to preserve your physical life can be counted with the fingers of one hand, and that all the rest is not necessary, nor does it produce any real or lasting satisfaction.

“Nourishment for the body is really easy to obtain, unless some hide it away from their siblings.  Nourishment for the soul is even easier to obtain, because all it takes is for you to go into the Silence of the heart with the desire of finding the Father, and with an open mind to listen and to be guided.  However, very few dedicate time to this revitalizing activity.

“Accept once and for all that you already posses all you need.  Don’t waste your mental resources or your spiritual energy by worrying for things that don’t add any value to your real life.  Remember Michael’s criteria for every activity.  Ask yourself, would this bring me closed to my Father, or is it just another distraction -- a waste of time and energy?”
